With the implementation of the 12th Five-Year Plan, more and more manufacturing industries have placed their focus on the materials and equipments featuring energy-saving and environmental protection. CHINAPLAS 2012 (The 26th International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries), which is dedicated to showcasing the world-class cutting-edge plastics and rubber technologies, will be grandly return to Shanghai and held at Shanghai New International Expo Centre on April 18-21, 2012. With the rapid development of China’s plastics and rubber industries and the global green trend, CHINAPLAS 2012 will introduce advanced products, technologies and solutions from all around the world. At the fairground, new technologies, new concepts, new designs and low energy consumption solutions will widely demonstrate their integration into various industries. A wide range of high-end machines, value-added new materials and innovative products will be showcased to satisfy diversified purchasing needs of both Chinese and overseas buyers.

Ms. Ada Leung, Assistant General Manager of Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd, organizer of CHINAPLAS, stated that soon after the start of exhibitor recruitment, many corporations applied for their booth space, and the growth of show scale was surprisingly high. In addition to all 17 exhibition halls in the east, west and north wings of the fairground, the organizer will also set up exhibition halls at the central square to expand the exhibition areas for displaying more machines and raw materials. This expansion not only satisfies the needs of the loyal exhibitors to enlarge their booth areas, but also accommodates more new comers. With such expansion, the total exhibition area is expected to hit a new record high of 200,000 sqm, enjoying an increase of 33.3% over the last edition held at Shanghai in 2010. The 4-day exhibition will attract over 100,000 trade visitors from 140 countries or regions and over 100 groups of delegations.

A number of famous enterprises have already confirmed their large exhibition areas. They include chemicals & raw materials suppliers like Du Pont, Sabic, Borouge, BASF, Bayer, Dow, ExxonMobil, LANXESS, etc; machinery suppliers like Haitian, Chen Hsong, Husky, Borch, SHI, EDI, Fangli, Liansu, Jwell, Jinhai, Dalian Totani, Demark, AKEI, Matsui, Kawata, Wu Xi Yang Ming, Tongyu, Zerma, Avian, Conair, and mould and die suppliers like Mold-Masters, Yudo, etc. Through this platform, every exhibitor will unveil its latest research and development achievements ranging from new materials, processing technologies to final applications.

With the overwhelming response, the organizer anticipated that over 2,600 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions plus 13 country/region pavilions from Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, PR China, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UK and USA will gather under the same roof to showcase their diversified chemicals and raw materials and over 2,500 sets of machines. Their presence will provide new solutions to users in the industries of plastics and rubber, automotive, building and construction, E&E, IT and telecommunications and packaging, etc., to enhance their competitiveness and product performance.

China is the large producer and consumer for plastics and rubber in the world. The consumption of plastics machines in China market occupied about 20% of the global market, reflecting China’s enormous potential in the market. CHINAPLAS, developed together with plastics and rubber industries for nearly 30 years, has currently become the world No.2 and Asia’s No.1 plastics and rubber trade fair. Ms. Leung mentioned that, undoubtedly CHINAPLAS has now been the best platform for international exhibitors to establish relationship, carry out business discussion and cooperation in China and Asian markets. The continuous growth of CHINAPLAS’ scale has fully demonstrated international exhibitors’ strong confidence in China and Asian markets, and has further proven the show’s international status.
